Honouring the vibrant contributions of Asian women across all aspects of life, the awards will take place on Wednesday May 19, 2010 at the London Hilton on Park Lane and are supported by long-standing patron, Cherie Blair
The Britain that emerges from recession will look very different. New industries will be created, deploying new ways of working. Technology will reconfigure traditional ways of thinking, across business, professional and cultural life.
Asian women are starting to occupy some of the most influential positions in British public life - in government, the FTSE 250 and across arts, the media and the world of consultancy.
The Asian Women of Achievement Awards is an essential vehicle that continues to unearth inspiring and humbling stories of achievement.
The 2010 awards will honour the vibrant contributions of Asian women across all aspects of life. We encourage you to share those stories with us.

If you feel that you or anyone you know deserves one of the awards, make your nomination now and send us the following:

The nominee`s CV (where appropriate)

A 1,000- word citation stating why the individual nominated should be considered for an award.

A 50-word biography for use in the book of the night should you/the candidate be shortlisted. This may be edited by our editorial team.

Entry Rules

A woman is eligible to the enter the Asian Women of Achievment Awards if she is resident in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and has been so for a period of 12 months before the date of application; if she was born on the continent of Asia; or if she is born into an ethnic group or had at least two grandparents born into an ethnic group or groups, of Asian origin other than Caucasian. All nominees must be older than 14 on December 31, 2009.
For all purposes above, ‘Asia` is defined as meaning:
[1] any part of the national territory of a country with national territory on the African-Eurasian land mass, excluding Europe and Africa. The boundary with Europe is taken to be the most direct line connecting the Dardanelles, the Sea of Marmora, the Bosphorus, the Black Sea, the ridges of the Caucasus, the Caspian Sea, the Ural River, and the Ural Mountains, to Novaya Zemlya. The boundary with Africa is taken to be the line of the Suez Canal. and[2] the national territories of Bahrain, Brunei, Cyprus, East Timor, Indonesia, Japan, the Maldives, Mauritius, the Phillipines, the Seychelles, and Sri Lanka.
[3] Any dispute over eligibility shall, at the discretion of the competition organisers, be referred to an independent panel of three arbiters, one of whom shall be legally qualified in England and Wales. The arbiters` decision will be final.

At our event last year, we were thrilled to be joined by Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.
The stellar guest list for the 2009 event also included Dragon James Caan, actress Meera Syal and Liberty director Shami Chakrabarti.
The Asian Women of Achievement awards are more important than ever. While there's been a real shift in the public perception of Asian female achievement, there is still much to be done. The Asian Women of Achievement awards unearth inspiring and humbling stories of achievement. Receiving one of these awards is a truly meaningful credential that enables winners to push forward in their lives and careers.
